Westside Boys & Girls Club

When we first visited the West Side Boys and Girls Club at a Rotary meeting, I was shocked at the state of their computers.  Their computer lab had a couple of semi-functioning computers, and their staff computers were in terrible condition.  They weren’t even sharing files with each other, nor did they have backups.  We came in, repaired a dozen donated computers, set them up in the computer lab with software to make browsing the internet safe for children.  We setup new staff computers as well, and centralized a file server for sharing.  We separated the networks to protect the staff files from the computer lab.  We setup secure wireless and a local backup as well as an online backup.  We fixed their broken Quickbooks and shared Quickbooks on the network securely.  When we finally finished a year later, they were functioning beautifully like any small business.  And we’re pleased to report we were able to donate all of that work so more dollars could go toward accomplishing the Club’s goals.
