Why do we recommend Dell over Sony?

Clients often ask why we recommend Dells over other brands. This Sony laptop is a perfect example. Sony computers are pretty to look at, but nearly impossible to work on. What would be a 3 minute hard drive swap on a Dell is a 1 hour exercise in extreme patience with the Sony.

Yesterday Dell sent a tech to our office to swap a part under warranty. He works for a 3rd party company that sends him out for warranty repair for Dell and HP.  They want him to get certified to do Sony warranty repair as well, but he said he’s dragging his feet for the reasons we’ve cited here.

When you’re looking to get your computer fixed, having one that’s easy to repair saves you time and money.  Is it a wonder all our techs own Dells and not Sonys?
